My house is making me sick. Ever since we've turned on the heat I've had horrible allergies and sneezing fits that go away the minute I walk out the door. Our forced hot air is forcing something nasty into the apartment.

I'm thinking of turning the heat down to 55, and running space heaters and maybe an air purifier as a temporary solution. I'd like to get this set up before xmas, as work is closed for two weeks and I'll be at home that entire time.

Does anyone have recommendations for air filters/purifiers? Ideally, I'd love one that has a permanent filter. Also, HEPA or non-HEPA?

If you have any other ideas for living in an allergic house, I'd love to hear them, too.

I am in such a dilemma. fes42 , stranger78 , and awfief are having Pimps and Hos II: Pimps on the High Seas (aka the Pirate Party). The same day my roommates  ( moonshadow, sparkymonster et. al.)decided to throw a Pantless Party. No, not a nekkid party, but trousers are outlawed. Kilts, sarongs, togas and skirts are the rule (A would love it). Now, few things are sexier than a kilt in my mind. And the opportunity to see lots of lovely men in skirts is almost too much to pass up. However, pirates be near and dear to me heARRRRt. What to do?

Well, as I already promised my presence to the pirate pARRRty, I'll be going to that one. But the Pantless Party is going to rankle me as an amazing missed opportunity.
